hSenid,
Affno consortium wins global tender in Tanzania
Daily Mirror - Saturday July 29, 2006
Powerful
consortium comprising Infosys-IPS (Tanzania) Ltd., hSenid Software
International and Affno won the highly competitive global tender
to automate all functions pertaining to the Capital Markets and
Securities Authority of Tanzania (CMSA). This key project in the
development of the up-and-coming Tanzanian Capital Markets is funded
by the World Bank.
Once implemented, the solution will make CMSA work more efficient
and effective by providing a state-of-the-art hardware and communication
infrastructure, along with a comprehensive intranet solution and
web portal streaming real-time stock market information. Among the
key components of the solution are the human resource management,
enterprise-wide document management and complaints management solutions.
This is one of the first large scale international projects to be
won by a Sri Lankan consortium. hSenid’s human resource management
application and Affno’s real time information portals plus
enterprise content management and workflow products are rapidly
being recognized overseas for their high quality. This win would
also serve as a global confidence index for Sri Lankan software
products in general.
CMSA was established in 1994. It is a regulatory and supervisory
body for capital markets in Tanzania. It licenses and regulates
investment intermediaries and deals with the issuing and trade of
securities. As a result of economic transformation and reforms,
Dar es Salaam Stock Market (DSE) was incorporated in September 1996
and began trading operations in April 1998. DSE is the only formal
trading place for securities in Tanzania.
