Global banking giant HSBC has selected Sri Lankan e-business integrator Affno as its long-term web development Company, after a detailed selection process in the Indian Sub-Continent and beyond.

HSBC widely acclaimed as the bank that introduced the ATM machine and electronic banking to Sri Lanka, is taking another major step with the Internet. It is Web re-launching its Internet presence worldwide. The first phase of this globally coordinated plan will come online later in the year and HSBC Sri Lanka will keep abreast of the Group's global roll out program.		  
 

HSBC Sri Lanka Deputy CEO Sarath Piyaratne said that the Bank is confident that Affno can help HSBC to build innovative Internet solutions tailored for Sri Lanka by integrating them effectively with the global Internet tools that HSBC group has invested in.

Affno's CEO Suren Kannangara said that his company was happy to be associated with HSBC in building exciting software tools for banking and about the prospects that lay ahead through this new appointment.
